Previous Commission Action: Commission previously approved the cooperative funding agreement with SWFWMD.
Background/Problem Discussion: Staff will provide more commentary at the meeting.The Pinellas/Ponce Project is over budget. Staff engaged a third party engineer to review plans and quantities for correctness; their report is attached. In short, additional roadway segments and utilities were added to the original scope, and the project budget was not amended to address the increased scope.

In consultation with SWFWMD and our engineers, staff believes there is a path forward where we can fulfill our agreement with SWFWMD and still achieve the same treatment targets. Additional roadway segments and utility work will have to be stitched into future projects in the area. The key comment from the Pennoni Report is comment # 10, "In order to get the construction cost to the grant amount of $2.75M will require reducing the limits of the project construction. Construction should occur from downstream to upstream to include the proposed drainage and baffle box. It appears constructing the project portion along Oleander Road
and the entire Ponce De Leon Boulevard may stay with the budget limits. It may be possible to also include the segment from Palm View ...
