Meeting called to order at 5:31 PM with Chairman Barris presiding.

24-0238 Approval of September 23, 2024 Meeting Minutes  
Patricia Irwin moved approval of the minutes. Seconded by Philip Beauchamp.

GENERAL AGENDA  
Discussion of Centennial Events  
Ashley Bernal-Assistant Town Manger spoke on staff working on centennial  
events.  
Ms. Ladd-Gilbert arrived at 5:32 PM.  
Joey Vars-Town Historian and Archivist-spoke on time capsule, cornerstone  
capsule installed in 1964, second time capsule in corner of the Garden Club,  
exact time not known, but was installed by Donald Roebling, sometime in  
October of 1931; contents will be evaluated and presented to public; will work  
on a location for a new time capsule; spoke on newspaper articles; extraction  
to begin soon.  
Mr. Vars spoke on bike tour route; discussions on Sunshine Law and how to  
have members preview route; Mr. Vars suggested reaching out individually to  
schedule a preview, board will discuss collectively at upcoming meeting.  
Discussions ensued regarding ability to have golf carts participate as well;  
Pinellas trail as part of route; motorized scooters.  
Ms. Bernal spoke on coordination with the Police Department.  
Mr. Vars spoke on distance, use of regular bicycles; potential to split into two  
segments; Ms. Bernal spoke on ability for prerecorded content posted on  
website for self-guided tours.  
Ms. Irwin questioned time capsule tradition; Mr. Vars addressed.  
Mr. Vars spoke on golf cart parade in spring/early summer similar to holiday  
parade; will finalize date soon; will be reaching out to partners; spoke briefly on  
on centennial concert on April 5th; spoke on original firetruck on display at  
heritage village; historic posting being done on social media.  
Comments suggesting posting historic content on website; potential for  
displays in buildings; Ms. Ladd-Gilbert spoke on a long-weekend display, Mr.  
Vars will check with Rec center for a possible space.  
Mr. Barris questioned starting points if tour was two part; Mr. Vars addressed.  
Mr. Barris encouraged members to do preview and bring recommendations to  
March meeting; spoke on having a map with stops and brief description.  
Ms. Ladd-Gilbert questioned potential for a trolley; Mr. Vars spoke on potential  
for a VIP tour; comments regarding costs, need for ticket sales; Ms. Bernal  
spoke on need to inspect all aspects of liability, will follow up with our attorney.  
Discussions ensued regarding opening to public.
