This budget amendment relates to vehicle replacements and acquisition of an maintenance of traffic trailer for storing signage and barricades.

Background/Problem Discussion: In addition to the requests for vehicle leases and the purchase of a replacement police interceptor, this budget amendment would provide funding for a maintenance of traffic trailer (MOT), stocked with barricades and other signage which would be readily available to any department for immediate or emergency traffic management needs.
Over the years the Town has set aside reserves for vehicle replacements, and it is expected that proceeds from the sale of existing vehicles will exceed the amounts to be spent on lease payments in the current fiscal year. The Police Interceptor is fully funded from annual set aside for fleet replacements. Local Option Gas Tax funds will pay for the MOT trailer.
The line-item detail of this amendment is provided in Attachment A.
