Resolution 2020-21: Adopting Pay Scale

 

Summary:

This resolution would adjust the pay scale in accordance with the proposed cost-of-living-adjustment (COLA) for FY 2020-21.

Previous Commission Action: The Town Commission provided approval of the first reading of the FY 2020-21 Annual Budget, which includes a 2% COLA for town employees.

 

Background/Problem Discussion: Each year the town reviews economic trends in preparation of the Annual Budget. According to the U.S Bureau of Labor Statistics annualized inflation has averaged about 1.9% for the Tampa-St. Petersburg-Clearwater area.

 

Town policy is that a COLA provides an equivalent increase to the minimum and maximum amounts provided in the pay scales for each position.

 

Financial Implications:  The COLA was included in the proposed FY 2020-21 Annual Budget.

 

Recommendation:  Staff recommends approval.

 

Proposed Motion:  I move approval of Resolution 2020-21 Adopting Pay Scale.
