Resolution 2020-01: Amending the 2019-2020 Budget
Summary:
This is the first budget amendment for the 2019-2020 fiscal year. This amendment contains carryforwards of previously encumbered, but unexpended funds from the prior year. A carryforward is either a commodity or service that was encumbered to be ordered in the budget year, but was not ordered, received or finalized before the end date (Sept 30, 2019). If there are surplus funds available fund-wide and in a department’s respective budget after September 30 of that year, the funds are eligible able to be carried over.
In the General Fund, there are carryforwards across multiple departments. In the Administration Department, there are carry forwards for the strategic planning process, as well as costs related to building remodeling such as security improvements.
In the Building Department, the costs related to the Baybrook property appraisals will be carried forward.
In Support Services, there are carry forwards related to ADA compliance and building improvements such as more secure doors for the employee gym.
Finally, in the Public Works Department, there are carry forwards related to parking lot striping, as well as park maintenance around town.
In the Water Department, final costs for engineering the chlorine gas conversion process will be carried over, in addition to a pump replacement.
