Background/Problem Discussion: The topic of obtaining signage for historic homes in Belleair has come up in Historic Preservation Board meeting discussions on more than one occasion. With the Historic Survey Project closed out, now may be a good time for the Board to further research and pursue this project.

Attached to this agenda item are photos of several examples of historic signage that are installed around the country. Some of these are very simple and some feature a fair amount of text; however, these examples do not begin to cover everything that is out there.

Between now and the next Historic Preservation Board meeting, I encourage you all to do some research on what you would like to see in our community. Local examples, national examples, or even sketches would be helpful resources for us to continue this discussion in February.

Expenditure Challenges  Expenses for this type of signage can be costly. However, funding and price points can be discussed at a later meeting.
