Mr. Kurt Steinmann, the property owner of 330 Roebling Road South, is applying to the Historic Preservation Board and the Commission to place his home on the Town of Belleair Historic Registry. This property was nominated for historic designation in July of 2018 by the Town's historic preservation contractor, as it meets the designation criteria set forth in Belleair's Code of Ordinances.

Previous Commission Action: On July 24, 2018, the Historic Preservation Board received its final report from JMT that included research and documentation on 51 properties and structures in Town that JMT nominated for placement on the Town's Historic Registry.
As one of these properties was 330 Roebling Road South, the applicant now wishes to follow through with JMT's nomination to place his home on Belleair's registry.
Background/Problem Discussion: Mr. Steinmann's international style home at 330 Roebling Road South was built in 1965 in the Overbrook Park subdivision, and was nominated by JMT in 2018 for placement on Belleair's Historic Registry.
Per the attached Florida Master Site File Form for this property, distinguishing features of 330 Roebling Road South include its carport, wide-boxed eaves, and multi-plane fa?ade. The property is also identifiable by its brick exterior, simple double doors, and flat roof that embody the international style.
This home was built by H. Smith Wright Jr., who is rumored to be a relative of the famed architect Frank Lloyd Wright. Aside from relation, though, the style of this home closely resembles the works of Frank Lloyd Wright, and it is one of the few international/post-modern homes in the area.
