Strategic Planning Kickoff with with the Florida Institute of Government at USF
Summary:
Staff has been working with the Florida Institute of Government at USF over the past few weeks in order to begin Belleair’s first strategic planning process, which will span now through April/May of 2019. To kick off this project, Angela Crist, USF’s project lead, is here to present to the Commission about the process moving forward.

Previous Commission Action: At the August 21 meeting, the Commission gave approval to staff to contract the John Scott Daily Florida Institute of Government at USF to complete Belleair’s first strategic plan.
Background/Problem Discussion: As Ms. Crist will discuss, the strategic planning process is a true team effort, as USF will work with staff, residents, business owners, and elected officials alike to create our first strategic plan. The creation of this plan will include citizen outreach, interviews, surveys, focus groups, secondary research, and leadership and community forums to gauge and document stakeholder input.
Once complete, this plan will outline a mission and vision for the Town, along with core values, aspirational goals, and specific strategies that will guide Belleair into an ever brighter future.
Expenditure Challenges The cost for this project was set aside in the creation of the 2018-19 budget.
