Continued First Reading of Ordinance 520 - Public Nuisance Noises
Summary:
Ordinance 520 as proposed would repeal and replace current code language of section 74-484. A brief summary of the proposed changes are:
-Addition of clearly defined terminology.
-Removal of the American National Standards Institute (ANSI) conformance language.
-Removed specific decibel level limits and replaced with “plainly audible” for sound measurement and
enforcement.
This draft reduced the time for continuos to 15 minutes, reduced the extend exempt times to 10 p.m. and 11 p.m. The town attorney will provide a final draft at the Commission Meeting on 6/5.
