Title: Revised scope of work for Pinellas Ponce Project. Summary: Deuel & Associates, Representatives from SWFWMD and town staff have worked to revise the scope of work for the Pinellas/Ponce roadway project. As indicated at the previous meeting construction will occur from downstream to upstream to include the proposed drainage and baffle box at Waterfall Park and the portion along Oleander Road connecting to the entirety of Ponce De Leon Boulevard eastward to the roundabout at Indian Rocks Road. Please see the attached map for a visual representation. Title

Revised scope of work for Pinellas Ponce Project.

Summary:

Deuel & Associates, Representatives from SWFWMD and town staff have worked to revise the scope of work for the Pinellas/Ponce roadway project. All parties agree that this scope should still allow the town and SWFWMD to achieve the agreed-upon treatment targets and still be within budget.

The attached map and cost estimate totals $2.9 M, $3.2M with the additional work added for tree replacement and irrigation in the medians. Staff would like Commission approval to move forward with the new scope of work, revise the necessary agreements with SWFWMD and let the project for bid. There is enough fund balance in the Capital Projects Fund to fund the proposed scope within these estimates.

EndBody

Previous Commission Action: The Commission previously rejected the bids and directed staff to revise the scope of the project

Background/Problem Discussion: See Item 18-0099, the revised scope still achieves stormwater treatment targets.

Expenditure Challenges:  Estimated at $3.2M Cooperatively funded with SWFWMD

Financial Implications:  Estimated at $3.2M

Recommendation:  I recommend moving forward with the revised scope, amending agreements and letting the project out to bid.

Proposed Motion  I move approval of the revised Pinellas scope, providing for staff to amend the necessary agreements & permits and letting the project out to bid.
