Staff is seeking Commission approval of additional Professional Engineering Services to complete project plan revisions and move forward with the construction services/oversight phase of this SWFWMD cooperatively funded project.

Previous Commission Action: NA
Background/Problem Discussion: There were drainage problems at the intersections of Osceola Rd and Indian Rocks Rd, as well as Poinsettia Rd and Indian Rocks Rd that were identified by Town staff as needing immediate attention. After further review of an already planned project, it was decided that these two problem areas could be corrected and incorporated into that project. Town staff has worked with Deuel & Associates to correct these problems through redesign of each of those intersections.

Financial Implications: The total cost of the additional Professional Engineering Services for the Oleander/Pinellas/Ponce de Leon/Palmview by Deuel & Associates will be $130,000.00. As part of the SWFWMD cooperative funding, 50% ($65,000.00) is under contract to be reimbursed by SWFWMD.
Recommendation: Staff recommends the Commission move approval of the additional Professional Engineering Services for the Oleander/Pinellas/Ponce de Leon/Palmview by Deuel & Associates for $130,000.00 to complete project plan revisions and construction services/oversight.
