Park Amenity Replacement Plan
Summary:
The Public Works and Recreation Department presents a plan to replace park amenities within Hallett Park and the surrounding area. $50,000 has been made available by the Commission from a land lease with the Belleair Country Club. With these funds the Town would like to replace worn out or damaged amenities such as benches, trash cans and Dogi-Pot stations.
In the last several years, the Town has renovated several parks and in the process has established a new standard for park amenities that provide a more durable and better looking product. The Town is proposing to use the allotted funds to replace these older amenities with the newer standard and increase our park service quality for our residents.

Previous Commission Action: On September 17, 2020, the Town Commission voted on Resolution 2020-22 that formalized a land lease agreement with the Belleair Country Club. From this agreement $350,000 was to be dedicated to capital park improvements within Hallett Park and nearby parks.
Background/Problem Discussion: Many of the park amenities along Hallett Park and other nearby parks have become damaged or worn out since original installation. With a new standard for park amenities the Public Works and Recreation Department would like to replace the existing amenities with the new, higher quality, amenities found at out recently renovated parks.
Expenditure Challenges Total cost for amenity replacement in this first phase would be $49,177.00
Financial Implications: Funds would be collected from the deposit amount paid by Belleair Country Club. No impact to Public Works operating budget.
Recommendation: Approve plan to replace existing amenities with new standard and add additional amenities for resident use.
