Title: Special Relief Permit - May Day Market Summary: The Belleair Garden Club is requesting a special relief permit for their 'May Day Market' event - which they would like to host on Saturday, May 2 from 10:00am - 2:00pm at Hunter Memorial Park and the Belleair Garden Club building (903 Ponce de Leon Blvd). Special Relief Permit - May Day Market

 

Summary:

The Belleair Garden Club is requesting a special relief permit for their ‘May Day Market’ event - which they would like to host on Saturday, May 2 from 10:00am - 2:00pm at Hunter Memorial Park and the Belleair Garden Club building (903 Ponce de Leon Blvd). This event will be a pop-up farmer’s / art market with up to 20 vendors - at both the park and the Garden Club. There will be one food truck. Attendees will utilize available public parking. The applicant is requesting to post promotional yard signs at parks in Town and hang a banner across Indian Rocks Road for about 10 days prior to the event. The applicant has obtained special event liability insurance and neighbor letters of approval.

 

Assistance is requested from Public Works for hanging the banner, placement of extra trash cans in the park, and placement of ‘No Parking’ signs along one side of the road on nearby streets to maintain flow of traffic. Assistance is requested from the Police Department for a special detail officer to monitor traffic, parking, and public safety.

 

Code relief requests include: Reserving a Town public space, temporary parking accommodation, temporary signage, and street vending.
