Resolution 2020-02: Amending Fiscal Year 2019-20 Annual Budget
Background/Problem Discussion: The Police Department has identified multiple cost saving opportunities for vehicle purchases. The department has been granted a generous donation for one of its vehicles, at a value of $34,878. Some additional upfitting cost will be incurred for this vehicle. Additionally, there is an opportunity to purchase two used and already upfitted Chevrolet Tahoe vehicles from the City of Largo at a cost of $11,000 each. The Police Department is requesting the use of Special Duty proceeds, above and beyond related direct personnel costs, to fund the vehicle and equipment purchases. More detail is provided in Attachment A.
Financial Implications: This use of Special Duty Proceeds is consistent with the intent contemplated by Town Commission in 2019 when minimum rates were established for officers. See the resolution attachment for a detailed listing of the amendment.
Recommendation: Approval of Resolution 2020-02 Amending Fiscal Year 2019-20 Annual Budget.
