Background/Problem Discussion: Although the Legislative Session has not yet begun, members of the Florida Legislature have introduced a number of proposals to either eliminate or reduce property taxes.
Expenditure Challenges: Unless other sources of local revenue are created, many municipalities would essentially cease to exist or be forced to curtail services to the life-safety services only.
Financial Implications: Until the bills are filed, the specific impacts cannot be determined.
