Approval of contracting services from Kamminga & Roodvoets, Inc to bring the all of the sidewalks and curb ramps along Indian Rocks Rd from Shirley Ave north to Belleview Blvd, as well as the curb ramps on The Mall from Ponce de Leon Blvd north to Carl Ave into ADA compliance. Due to the cost of the project exceeding $35,000, the purchase requires Commission approval. Pricing is based on the existing contract(s) with K&R for the Ponce and Palmetto reconstruction projects.
Summary:
Staff is seeking Commission approval to replace all of the broken sidewalk panels and current sidewalk that is out of ADA compliance, as well as driveway aprons that go through the sidewalk along Indian Rocks Rd back into ADA compliance. Also each of the curb ramps at each of the side streets along this same stretch of Indian Rocks Rd need to be upgraded to become ADA compliant.

Previous Commission Action: N/A
Background/Problem Discussion: During the last fiscal year, Commission asked Town staff to work on repairing the broken sidewalk panels and other trip hazards along Indian Rocks Rd, as well as bringing all of the sidewalk and curb ramps into ADA compliance. Town staff has field evaluated this entire segment of roadway with the contractor and marked each of the areas that are out of compliance and need replacing. The quantities for each of the segments that will be repaired are indicated within the attached proposals.
Expenditure Challenges $156,390.84 from Small Roadway Projects in the Capital Projects fund. (Budgeted)
