Title: Preliminary Discussion of Personnel Policies Summary: The Town's Personnel policies have not been constructively revised since 2003. The attached redline document includes suggested changes by the Town's Labor Attorney, Brian Koji at a minimum to maintain legal compliance and mitigate labor risks. Since significant revision is being made to the policy, other changes beyond legal compliance would be timely. As a statement of policy, the commission will have to approve the personnel policies at a future meeting by resolution, but staff wanted to engage the commission early in the revision process to solicit feedback and inquire if there were any items that the commission would specifically like reviewed or added. I have engaged multiple committees to research suggested changes to disciplinary procedures, paid time off provisions and as an adjunct to this process, health care options. This item is for discussion only.
