Special Relief Permit Request - 2026 Sunset 5k and Fun Run
Summary:
The Town of Belleair Recreation Department is seeking a special relief permit for Belleair’s annual Sunset 5k and Fun Run on Saturday, March 7, 2026 from 5:30pm- 10:00pm. The event will include an estimated 1,200 total participants (including runners, volunteers, vendors, and staff). Road closures will begin at approximately 12:00pm and conclude around 10:00pm. Staff is requesting assistance from the Public Works Department for street closures and parking, the Police Department for racecourse and event security, and the Solid Waste Department for the use of the satellite truck. The post-race party will take place on the Dimmitt Community Center athletic fields. Alcohol will be served at this event. The Recreation Department is in the process of obtaining an alcohol permit.
