Summary:

 

To meet budgetary needs, staff recommends FY 2026-2027 Water Rates be adjusted in the following way:

 

                     Water Base Fee for Residential and Mult-Family increased 5.0% to $26.46 monthly.

                     Water Base Fee for Non-Residential increased 5.0% to $54.31.

                     Usage Fees for Residential, Multi-Family and Nonresidential increased by 5.0% for all tiers.

Previous Commission Action:

 

Commission approved the recommended FY 2026-2027 rate increase recommendation of 5% during July 21, 2026, regular meeting.

 

Background/Problem Discussion:

 

The Town purchases water from Pinellas County at a wholesale rate established by the County Commission.  The current annual increase is set at 5%, which is passed along to users based on a tiered consumption formula.

Recommendation: Staff recommends approval of Ordinance 601.
