This directly meets Strategic Planning Goal C2 Traffic: Street designs that control speed and minimize traffic volume throughout town; C.2.1 Conduct a long-term traffic study to understand speed, traffic patterns, and volume. Background/Problem Discussion: The Town Commission had previously asked staff to look at and identify areas of town that could benefit from a reduce speed limit. Town staff decided to engage RS&H to help conduct this study, since RS&H will be doing other traffic study related research within town limits.
Once the Speed Limit Reduction Study and Support Services are completed, the engineer and staff will present this data to the Commission to get their input on how best to proceed with a potential speed reduction within town limits

Financial Implications: The total cost to complete a Speed Limit Reduction Study and Support Services will be $21,266.42.
Recommendation: Staff recommends the Commission move of approval of general engineering professional services from RS&H to complete a Speed Limit Reduction Study and Support Services for the amount of $21,266.42.
