Approval of Purchase of Vehicles for Fiscal Year 2016-2017.
Summary:
Staff is requesting Commission approval to purchase vehicles that are currently budgeted in the Adopted 2016-2017 Budget. All prices quoted in the attached schedule are based on the Florida Sheriff’s Cooperative Fleet Bid Award. Please see the attached quotations for more detail.

Previous Commission Action: As a matter of practice, the Commission approves most capital asset purchases over $20,000.
Background/Problem Discussion: Previous vehicle policy has been to retain assets for 7 to 10 years. In order to increase efficiency and adapt to changes in services, staff is adopting a policy of 5-year retention of future vehicles. In order to fund these new purchases, staff will be utilizing revenues from the Capital Equipment Replacement Fund and proceeds from the sale of auctioned assets.
Expenditure Challenges None.
Financial Implications: Budgetary impact to General Fund in the amount of $224,554, Water Fund $24,729, and Solid Waste Fund $150,000.
Recommendation: Staff recommends the Commission move approval to purchase the vehicles as listed on the attached schedule.
