This is a continuation of the Town’s current external auditor services contract with the firm Saltmarsh, Cleaveland & Gund, P.A.

Previous Commission Action: Town Commission awarded a five-year contract for Professional Auditing Services to Davidson, Jamieson & Cristini P.L. for fiscal years ending 2019 thru 2023. In 2019 Town Commission assigned this contract to the firm Saltmarsh, Cleaveland & Gund, P.A. following a merger between the two firms.

 

Background/Problem Discussion: The Town of Belleair has received external auditing services for many years from Davidson, Jamieson and Cristini, P.L. On November 16, 2018 the Town Commission awarded a five-year contract for Professional Auditing Services to Davidson, Jamieson & Cristini P.L. (DJCPL) for fiscal years ending 2019 thru 2023. In 2019 the contract was assigned to Saltmarsh, Cleaveland & Gund, P.A. due to a merger of the two firms.

 

The Town of Belleair will continue to work with the same partner and staff as in past years. Attached is a copy of the engagement letter between the Town and the firm.

 

Financial Implications:  None.

 

Recommendation:  Selection of Saltmarsh, Cleaveland & Gund, P.A. to continue as the Town’s external auditor.

 

Proposed Motion:  I move to approve selection of Saltmarsh, Cleaveland & Gund, P.A. to continue as the Town’s external auditor.
