General Capital Projects Update
Summary: Staff is pleased to announce that our two major projects for the year are about to get underway.
Pinellas/Ponce:
* $3,470,868
* Staff held a pre-construction meeting with representatives from SWFMWD, Kamminga & Roodvoets, local utilities, and town engineers on May 7th.
* Work will begin in approx - 45 days-Mid July.
* Resident kick-off meetings will be held on June 19th at Town Hall.
* Additional communications per Capital Projects Communications Guide
* Using Pinellas Park as lay-down area
* Commission agreed to not replace apron pavers
Palmetto South:
* $980,350
* Staff held a pre-construction meeting with representatives from Kamminga & Roodvoets, local utilities, and town engineers on May 17th. Not a SWFMD project.
* Phases will likely run together as specialty crews cycle through each project, with emphasis on Ponce, due to time constraints with SWFMD
* Also using Pinellas Park as laydown area.
Palmetto Road North:
* $962,000, $481,000 in the legislature's budget for the Governor to sign.
* RS&H is doing the design work now so the work can "continue"
* The logisitics of how this get done are a big unknown, as the project may run through DOT.
* Cost were based of the recent engineers estimate of Palmetto South.
Belforest Mill & Resurface
* Will likely piggyback the K&R contract
* Staff will reconstruct some sidewalk segments as well.
Carl Road
* $691,000 pre-engineering estimate
* Carl road is in design.
* Conducted resident outreach regarding sidewalks
* Will get 30% cost of installation for Board recommendation and Commision action
Bluff
* Engineering firm to review reports to date and draft cooperative funding application for permittability study
Tackett Park
* Staff completing installation June 6th
