Body

Previous Commission Action: The Commission previously appropriated funds for this service through the budget process.

Background/Problem Discussion: Staff solicited for bids for parkland mowing and landscape maintenance services throughout town. The contract term is set for 1 year (12 months) with the option for the Town to renew for 3 additional 1 year periods. The two lowest bidders were Third Generation Services with $31,050 and the current contractor, Precise Property Maintenance with $33,390. Staff contacted the references of the bidders and received mixed reviews pertaining to Third Generation Services. Included as an attachment is a memo from the bid’s procurement officer summarizing a review from Third Generation Services’ reference.

Expenditure Challenges  None.

Financial Implications:  The service will have an expenditure impact in the Parks & Recreation Department budget in the General Fund.

Recommendation:   Based on the reference’s concerns about meeting levels of service and billing, staff recommends moving forward with Precise Property Maintenance.

Proposed Motion  I move to award of Bid #: RD17-4 to Precise Property Maintenance, in the amount of $33,390.
