First Reading of Ordinance 560 - Speed on Town Roads
Summary:
Ordinance 560 lowers the speed on Town roads from 30 mph to 25 mph. All roadways are captured except Indian Rocks Road as the present authority is being investigated. Once the matter is resolved, the ordinance can be amended accordingly. Roadways previously lowered to 20 mph shall remain at 20 mph, and are specifically named in the ordinanceAttorney Jay Daigneault will be available to address any additional questions.

Previous Commission Action: The Town Commission reached a consensus on 11/15/2022 to move forward with reducing the speed limit throughout town.
Background/Problem Discussion:
The Town commissioned an investigation of speeds within the Town, which investigation determined that lowering the speed limits in the Town from 30 miles per hour to 25 miles per hour would result in a quantifiable safety benefit
Proposed Motion: Move approval of Ordinance 560 on first reading.
